Donna Meehan – Associate Coach

You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great. – Zig Ziglar

Over the past 15 years I have competed in both Road and Track racing. From local club races through to National & International level. My passion for ‘all things bikes’ continues to grow.

In 2008, while still riding and racing, I decided that after gaining so much from racing and being coached, it was now my turn to give some of that experience back to cycling.

After obtaining my Level 1 coaching accreditation I completed my coaching knowledge with Level 2 accreditation. My ‘high-involvement’ approach and practical experience, backed by a strong educational base, has allowed me to work and be mentored at the highest levels in Australian cycling through involvement with State Institute of Sport (NSWIS) and as the AIS Sports Draft Coach for Cycling in NSW. In 2014 I established a cycling academy for promising Under 15 + 17 junior cyclists and through Domestique Cycle Coaching, have coached and mentored many athletes. Of particular note is the establishment of Camp de Femme, Australia’s first Female specific training camps.

My approach of structured progressive training allows my athletes to build solid foundations in both skills and fitness that has seen them progress to achieve their goals, which is without doubt one of the most rewarding aspects of coaching for me.
